The core of any watch is its case. As seen in the photo above, machining a custom watch housing from a solid block of aluminum requires navigating incredibly complex geometries in a very small footprint.
- Integrated Strap Lugs: The four extending prongs (lugs) that hold the watch strap must be machined with absolute symmetry and structural integrity to withstand daily pulling and twisting.
- Thin-Wall Machining: To keep the wearable device lightweight, the walls of the housing are milled extremely thin. We utilize advanced high-speed machining strategies to hollow out the center cavity without causing the delicate circular walls to warp or deform.

Multi-Axis Precision for Buttons and Sensors
A smartwatch is an interactive device. Look at the side profile of the housing in the second photo. You will notice intricate rectangular cutouts, small circular holes, and stepped recesses.
- Perfect Component Alignment: These tiny side features are designed to house physical buttons, digital crowns, microphones, or optical heart-rate sensors. Using our advanced multi-axis CNC machines, we mill these side cutouts in a single setup. This guarantees perfect positional accuracy, ensuring that the internal PCB aligns flawlessly with the external buttons.
- Water Resistance & O-Ring Grooves: Wearables must survive sweat, rain, and swimming. Inside the case, we machine microscopic grooves with incredibly tight tolerances to hold the rubber O-rings and gaskets. A deviation of even 0.01mm here can lead to a compromised waterproof seal.
Flawless “As-Machined” Cosmetic Finish
For wearable devices, the surface finish is just as important as the dimensional accuracy. Because the watch case is the visual centerpiece of the product, it cannot have any visible tool marks, chatter, or rough edges.
Take a close look at the pristine, sweeping tool paths inside the cavity and along the outer curves. This premium “As-Machined” finish is a testament to perfectly trammed spindles and rigid workholding.
Delivering a flawless raw surface is critical because it acts as the perfect foundation for high-end post-processing, such as bead blasting, mirror polishing, or custom color anodizing.
