The Secret to Leak-Proof Seals: Precision Grooving
The most critical feature of this elbow connector is the series of grooves cut into the cylindrical ends. These are O-Ring Sealing Grooves.
- Tight Tolerances: For an O-ring to seal correctly under high pressure, the groove depth and width must be machined to extremely tight tolerances (often +/- 0.02mm). If the groove is too shallow, the O-ring won’t compress; if it’s too deep, the fluid will bypass the seal.
- Surface Finish: The bottom surface of the groove must be perfectly smooth. Any tool marks or scratches here could create a path for fluid to leak or damage the rubber seal during assembly. Our precision CNC turning ensures a mirror-like finish in these critical areas.
Complex Geometry: The 90-Degree Challenge
